'Daddy, Daddy (The Gift)'

Acrylics on canvas board, this is a portrait of Mark Feehilly (singer), his partner Cailean and their daughter Layla, who was born through surrogacy. Mark has been a vocal campaigner for a change in Irish laws to make the parents of children born through surrogacy the legal parents of their children. As my daughter in law has just been a surrogate mother for a couple they met through the UK surrogacy agency, Mark's story felt very personal to me.
